38 Nigerian universities increase their tuition fees [Full list]

No fewer than 38 universities across Nigeria have jerked up their fees.
The increment might be attributed to poor funding by the federal and state governments.
Recall that Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), poorly rated the President Muhammadu Buhari in the area of funding of university education.
ASUU noted that it will be difficult for any Nigeria university to effectively compete globally with the attitude of Buhari not to allocate enough budgetary allocation as prescribed by UNESCO to fund education.
In a statement made available to DAILY POST, the Chairman, ASUU – University of Ibadan chapter, Dr. Deji Omole, lashed out at the APC for promising “a minimum of 15 percent for education”.
The statement which assessed the two years of Buhari in office, lamented that the current government had made Nigerians poorer, adding that public education was not taken seriously because most children of the rich and those in high offices do not school in Nigeria.
Below is a list of tuition increment in some universities as collated by Vanguard, in the order of institution, old fees, new fees…

Melaye, a social deviant, says Kogi governor

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Wednesday described the senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye, as a social defiant that should be checked by the Senate.
He said the federal lawmakers needed to carry out the exercise urgently before they would be adjudged birds of the same feather with Melaye.
Bello spoke with State House correspondents after he met with the Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The governor and Melaye have been at loggerheads with the senator accusing Bello of being behind the current move by his constituents to recall him from the National Assembly.

Sanusi reveals real problem with Nigeria

The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has strongly condemned groups that have resorted to ‘hate speech’ along ethnic lines.
The Emir, while condemning ethnicity/tribalism, noted that Nigerians must stop thinking along ethnic lines and embrace the creation called Nigeria.
He gave these charges via a series of posts on Instagram on Wednesday.
According to him, “Fulani. My grandfather was an Emir also fulani my uncle and guardian was also the immediate late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero and therefore I represent all that has been talked about this afternoon.
He said the language of the generation older than him was to use regions to refer to themselves, but that he is a Nigerian.
“My grandfather was a Northerner, I am a Nigerian, he wrote.
“The problem with this country is that in 2009, we speak in the language of 1953. Sir Olaniwun can be forgiven for the way he spoke, but I cannot forgive people of my generation speaking in that language.
“Let us go into this issue because there are so many myths that are being bandied around. Before colonialism, there was nothing like Northern Nigeria, Before the Sokoto Jihad, there was nothing like the Sokoto caliphate.
