2015: Why I insist Jonathan, Buhari should not run – Sheik Ahmad Gumi

2015: Why I insist Jonathan, Buhari should not run – Sheik Ahmad Gumi Sheik Ahmad Gumi welcomed us into his  modestly furnished, new apartment somewhere in a highbrow part of Kaduna town. He was there waiting for us, with broad sparkling grin that seemed to illuminate his gray beards. As we exchanged pleasantries, the man who had sparked a national debate with two letters he had written to some Presidential aspirants,  appeared much younger that pictures portrayed of him. Our main mission was to find out why he wrote President Goodluck Jonathan and Gen. Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) not to contest the 2015 Presidential elections and to have his take on the insurgency ravaging the North Eastern part of Nigeria. Why I killed my step-daughter –Woman

The last has not been heard about why a woman, Aminat Akani allegedly
drowned a four-year-old child, Nofisat, the only daughter of her lover,
Moshood Mubo. The 24-year-old suspect told Saturday Sun she killed the
baby to teach her lover a lesson. She accused him of getting her pregnant
without providing for her and her child, Yussuf.
Born and bred in Ibadan, Oyo State, Aminat was said to have lured her
lover’s two kids, Nofisat and Lateef, to her house in the Orile area of Lagos
when her lover and father of her only child, Yussuf refused to give her
money for the recent sallah celebration. Realising that Nofisat was dead
under a circumstance yet to be proved, she disposed of her and proceeded
to Lagos Island with Lateef. She was arrested on October 9, 2014 by the
police when relatives, who knew that the children were missing, spotted her
in the market while she was about to sell off the second child, Lateef.
Currently detained at the Lagos State Criminal Investigative Department,
Panti, Aminat told Saturday Sun a story that is supposed to touch the
heart. She claimed that she found the baby dead and because she was
terrified that the police would call her a murderer, she quickly disposed of
her in a pool of water close to her house. More @

The Amaechi I know must be regretting joining APC now –Nyesom Wike, ex- minister

The immediate

of State,
Education,
Chief Nyesom
Wike, in this
interview with
OLALEKAN
ADETAYO,
speaks on his ambition to become the governor of Rivers State, his quarrel with
Governor Rotimi Amaechi and his stewardship as a minister
How will you respond to those who hold the view that by resigning your
ministerial position for your governorship ambition, you are leaving certainty
for uncertainty?
If you say I left certainty for uncertainty, you are asking whether I am sure of
winning the election. What you should understand in life is that there is nothing
that you partake in that does not involve risk. Every human endeavour involves
taking risk. However, this type of risk, I can tell you, is the one that has a
success rate of 80 per cent and a failure rate of 20 per cent. So I will say that I
am not leaving certainty for uncertainty. More @

Why Power generation dropped by 1,000MW to 2,513MW by Okechukwu Nnodim

The current epileptic supply of electricity being experienced across many parts of the country is as a result of the massive drop in generated power by 1,000 megawatts in the last one week, the Federal Government has said.
Figures released by the Federal Ministry of Power showed that the country’s peak generation as of October 15, 2014 was 3,513.5MW, against a peak demand of 12,800MW.
It, therefore, means that the country is currently generating about 2,500MW.
Many Nigerians have in the last one week decried the poor supply of electricity and criticised the power firms for not living up to expectation since the sector was privatised last year. More @ http://www.punchng.com/news/power-generation-drops-by-1000mw-to-2513mw/

Mass failure at Nigerian Law School as over 3,000 students fail bar exam

The Nigerian Law School recently released the 2013/2014 August result, and it
was a Tsunami. Out of the 5,000 candidates who registered, only about 2,000
passed. Meaning that about 3,000 students failed the bar exam, the highest
failure the Nigerian Law School has witnessed since its 50 years of existence.
Many of the students are angry and frustrated. They say they don’t believe the
mass failure is the fault of the students and are now asking for a review of their
results. An affected student who reached out to Us said;
“People have worked their butt off for this exam, people have ran literally mad for
this exam, these same people have invested their life savings for this exam,
people who lost their parents prior to this exam had to muster the strength to
write this exam and the Director general of the Nigerian law school who is
responsible for the this mass failure doesn’t see reasons with these people. He
said he’s raising a standard but all we see is a high standard of failure!”
Another student said
“Do we say 3000 students payed N300,000 not counting expenses for a year,
feeding, books, then prepared to fail? We are calling for a review” More @ http://www.ngtrends.com/2014/10/mass-failure-at-nigerian-law-school-as-over-3000-students-fail-bar-exam/

“It’s not easy Staying Without Sex” – Uti Nwachukwu

Uti Nwachukwu wish he could stay off sex till he finds the right woman to settle
down with, but he is afraid, the task is too much for him to carry. While speaking
with a v anguard reporter, Uti says he gave his life to Christ in 2006, but admits
he is still an imperfect person, despite being born again.
“Of course, I am born again, I found Christ in 2006, I have always believed in
Christ. But I must tell you I am not still perfect, he told the reporter.
“Being born again, means accepting Christ as your Lord and personal saviour. He
didn’t come to the world for the righteous, Christ came for the imperfect ones like
me and you. I genuinely want to change, Christ is right there soliciting and
interceding for me, because he is the way, the truth and the life. People fail to
see that it is we, the imperfect, that Christ came for. I am extremely imperfect. I
am not the stereotypical type of born again, I am the type that is aware of the
love and grace” he explained.
When asked what he meant by being imperfect, he said; “Personally, I would not
want to have sex before marriage but sometimes you fall and when you fall, you
repent and beg God for forgiveness; it’s not easy. More @ http://yabaleftonline.com/2014/10/easy-staying-without-sex-uti-nwachukwu/

Gullit on NFF Radar as Keshi Denies He was Sacked

‘My contract expired after the World Cup in Brazil’

Duro Ikhazuagbe with agency reports
The search for a competent expatriate to take charge of Nigerian football may have been narrowed down to Dutch legend, Ruud Gullit even as there were speculations that former Germany captain, Lothar Matthaus, was also been considered.
Although no Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) official was willing to confirm or deny these speculations, a top football source at the Glass House in Abuja at the weekend gave a hint that Gullit may be the preferred candidate.
Even top football site, AfricanFootball.com, also reported yesterday that moves have been made to sound out Gullit as the country’s new coach.
