Jonathan harps on unity among Nigerians

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday urged all Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of unity and continue towork for the good of the country.Jonathan made the call during the commissioning of the over N600million Jubilee Resort and LeadershipCentre built inside the premises of the National Christian Centre, Central Business District, Abuja by the Christian Association of Nigeria.The President said CAN was able to achieve the feat because of unity.He said Nigerians must emulate the association.He said, “With unity of purpose, the body of Christ can achieve greater things. Nigerians should imbibe thespirit of unity and continue to work for the progress of the nation. The Christian Association of Nigeria has done it. We can also do it.”Jonathan also described leadership as the greatest asset of every society.He said there should be a huge difference between a Christian that occupies public offices and people of different faiths.He said those who pray regularly to God were expected to lead with the fear of God.Jonathan urged the leadership of the CAN to ensure that the proceeds from the facility are used to maintain the building and the National Christian Centre.He said the era in which the association goes cap in hand to beg for assistance whenever there are urgentneeds to meet should end with the inauguration of the facility.The President of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, said the idea behind the building of the facility was to build a five-star accommodation with Godly atmosphere for residents and those who visit the Federal Capital Territory.Oritsejafor lauded members of the association and others who donated generously in order to make the dream a reality.Plaques were presented to individuals who contributed to the construction.
