No alternative to Jonathan’s Presidency—Ohanaeze youths

OhanaezeYouth Council, OYC, has called on Nigerians, especially people of Igbo extraction, to re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan in next week’s presidential election. The group, in a statement by the President, Mazi Francis Oji, and Secretary, Board of Trustees, Mazi Okwu Okwu, said doing otherwise would amount to political suicide that the Igbo might regret for years to come.It counselled Igbo leaders to close ranks, stop infighting and strategize like other ethnic nationalities to get into the mainstream of Nigerian politics. The OYC also advised President Jonathan and those who had his ears not to promote disunity in Igbo leadership by working with a particularOhanaeze Ndigbofaction, but to reach out to all.According to the group, doing otherwise may divide the voting strength of Igbo that may see some abstaining from voting or pitching tents with people that do not have Igbo’s political interest at heart. It said: “President Goodluck Jonathan has done for the Igbo what no other president has done since the end of the Biafra War. “We believe he has conscience, has learned lessons and has promised to make amends.”
