Peterside unveils four-point agenda

GOVERNORSHIP candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, yesterday, unveiled his four-point agenda for the state if elected governor in the February election.Peterside, who promised to continue with the mono rail project started by Governor Rotimi Amaechi, said his programme would be anchored on four pillars which he gave as security, public sector accountability, human and capital development.Assuring that he will focus on job creation, Peterside said he will set up a Rivers State Security Trust Fund to assist security agencies, adding that CCV cameras would be installed at different points in the state, while security helicopters would be deployed to enhance security.“We understand the relationship between unemployment and security. So, we will productively engage our youths. We will secure the waterways and the entire state,” he said.On transparency, Peterside said his government will implement the Freedom of Information law, stressing that everybody in his government will have no choice but to comply.“We will domesticate the Freedom of Information Act. Government officials must comply with it. It is not optional. We will give quarterly account to the people,” he added.
