The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) said a suicide bomber who rammed into a
military check point in Bajoga, Gombe State on Tuesday failed to achieve his
mission
This information is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday
by the Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade.
The statement said that his attempt to escape failed as he was brought
down by vigilant soldiers when he tried to flee after hitting a military
Amoured Personnel Carrier with his IED laden Honda car.
It said that the explosives which failed to detonate have been evacuated and
handed over to the police.
According to the statement, security forces also in Kano raided terrorists’
hideout in Nasarawa Local Government Area leading to the arrest of bomb
making experts.
